This session explores the role of corporations and foundations within today’s prospect research ecosystem, highlighting how institutional fundraising differs from traditional individual giving. Participants will gain practical insight into identifying and qualifying corporate and foundation prospects, as well as understanding how due diligence informs strategy and risk assessment. The session also examines how prospect researchers can collaborate more effectively with Corporate and Foundation Relations colleagues to support integrated, institution-wide fundraising efforts.

Speaker: Kevin Vaughn


Kevin Vaughn is a Research Analyst in the Department of Development at the University of Notre Dame, where he specializes in prospect research and strategy for the Corporate and Foundation Relations team. He also plays a key role in developing and deploying due diligence policies and procedures in collaboration with other university departments. Prior to joining Development, Kevin held administrative roles in graduate programs across the humanities and global affairs. Alongside his expertise in higher education, he holds advanced degrees in music performance.
